It’s been a long time coming, but here is the first episode of Story Elements. For this maiden voyage, I talked with Gilbert Martinez, public information officer for the County of Sonoma, with our conversation spanning an overview of his career as a communications professional. In addition to his current role, we discuss his tenure in health non-profit space for Be The Match, an organization dedicated to helping patients find the life-saving marrow donors and facilitate the support they need throughout the transplant process.
Like myself, Gilbert is an alum of the Master of Arts in Professional Communication graduate program (MAPC) at the University of San Francisco. Naturally, I also talked with him about his experiences as adjunct professor in the MAPC program. We also got into his childhood dream to become a professional baseball player, the importance of self-care, and more.
Special thanks to Gilbert for the great talk, and also to my friend Devanand Bhat for suppling the instrumental tunes for the show!
